Due to a disruption in the supply of jet A-1 fuel, there were delays in Thursday morning’s operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) reports that things are back to normal.
“The problem has been fixed, and regular airport operations are now underway,” KAA stated.
The Authority expressed regret for the inconvenience that the impacted airline partners and passengers had to endure.
“If there are any updates regarding their flights, passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines.” We appreciate your ongoing support, the statement said.
Kenyan airlines have been buying more jet fuel in the last year, which suggests that both domestic and foreign air travel is increasing.
Official figures from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) show that airlines bought 661,100 tonnes of fuel in 2023, an increase of 11% over the previous year’s purchases.
