Ruto has trampled the constitution, what about his impeachment? TISA Interview Coordinator

Diana Gichengo, the national coordinator of the Institute for Social Accountability (TISA), said she was prepared to criticize President William Ruto, saying he had violated the constitution.

Gichengo insisted that Ruto and his cabinet are equally breaking the law and will not be forgiven even if the Deputy President is impeached for serious violation of law.

She urged Kenyans to continue fighting for what is rightfully ours as a country. Those who seriously violate the constitution should immediately leave office, regardless of authority. DP Gachagua has been accused of violating articles 147, 148,174,186 and 189 of the constitution which touch on his conduct and responsibility as the principal assistant to the President. He has also been accused of corruptly acquiring assets across the country.
The impeachment motion was tabled in the National Assembly after 291 Members of Parliament appended their signatures in favor of ousting Gachagua.
A public participation was also held on Friday and Saturday as a section of vexed Kenyans also called for Ruto’s removal together with Gachagua’s, arguing that they have failed the nation with poor governance.

It is now thought that D.P. Gachagua will defend himself in parliament and in court this week, where parliament is considering his impeachment motion.

Meanwhile, he has asked President Ruto, MPs and Kenyans to forgive him.
“I want to tell my brother President William Ruto that if I have wronged you because of our passion for work, please find it in your heart to forgive me. Please find it in your heart to forgive my spouse as well, Gachagua said in a speech at the Sunday service..
