KNEC has released KPSEA time table

The assessment carried out is an important part of the competency-based curriculum (CBC) and marks the completion of sixth form school for students across the country.

Kenya’s transition to the CBC introduced KPSEA, which emphasizes practical skills and knowledge acquisition based on test-based courses.

This assessment assesses students’ ability at the end of primary school (grade 6) and replaces the previous system which ended with the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

The evaluation process of KPSEA provides educators with insights into student performance in various subjects, assisting them in pinpointing areas for improvement and promoting the development of diverse skills.

The year 2024, KPSEA and practice exams will commence on Friday 25 October while a main exam will take place from Monday 28 October20-24 and Wednesday 30October then.

With no changes expected, Maths and English papers will be held on Monday, Kiswahili, Integrated Science and Sign Language exams will be held on Tuesday, and Fine Arts and Social Studies exams will end KPSEA on Wednesday .

“The time allowed for each paper is specified in the name of the paper and no extra time is added. KNEC said examiners differ in instructions..

Only if the examiner gives special permission to a student to take a break, other than that each student is expected to patiently stay in the assessment room until the time allocated for each paper is finished.

“Do not leave your written paper or your answers where a fellow candidate can copy them. Your work must not show signs of such improper assistance.” KNEC also warns applicants.

Candidates who make mistakes in evaluation in any paper, risk the results of the whole program to be cancelled..
