10,000 athletes battle for honors at Chepsaita cross country in 2024
According to Abraham Mutai, the chairman of Central Rift Athletics Kenya, Chepkemel in Turbo, is where the finishing touches are being done, the competition’s venue.
Addressing the LOC meeting at the site, Mutai said 90 percent of the course has been completed..
He said: Safety and security issues for spectators are also considered preparations stages. “Everything is going well for the preparations, more than 10,000 competitors have registered and will be here come next month to prepare properly,” said Mutai.
Athletics Kenya managing director and head of youth development Barnabas Korir said 70 percent of opportunities will be given to local athletes.
Although this is an international event, we have confirmed top players from Ethiopia, Morocco, Uganda and Tanzania, Korir said.
Korir said AK is working with ADAK and AIU to inform and monitor athletes and coaches to prevent doping cases..
