Once-welcoming clerics have turned away from Ruto’s administration
The church is rising against President William Ruto’s administration amid the impeachment drama surrounding former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Clerics who once welcomed top politicians onto their pulpits are now distancing themselves, admitting they were wrong to believe this was a government chosen by God for the people.
The latest wave of teachings from the pulpit signals a growing revolt among church leaders against President William Ruto’s government.
“I have always been thinking that this government is a government of God; it is a government of fights,” Teresia Wairimu of Faith Evangelistic Ministry said on Sunday.
“This is not the government of God. It is not. We shall know them by their fruit and for sure there is no fruit of God here,” noted Tony Kiamah of the River of God Church.
Scripture-supported clergy sentiments express regret as well as condemnation of President Ruto’s problematic administration. “Our church fathers, you need to reach a point where you essentially accept that tulikosea.”
We made a mistake, Kiamah said. “As a voter, I am disappointed,” Wairimu continued. “You have to convince me that we are tired of noise and that we want performers to go home; the majority of you will.”
“I was hoping the day we brought this government to power, they would have listened, but clearly till today they have rejected to hear God,” stated John C.W. of the Share The Love Center.
Prior to the 2022 election, the church considered President William Ruto and the impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to be its golden boys. Their messy aftermath is now causing the clergy a great deal of headaches. Apostle Kimani William of the Kingdom Seekers Church said, “Unajua hii serikali iliingia kwa maombi na Mungu ndiye hakimu wa serikali hii na kwa sababu wameweka kipimo cha kuhukumiwa.”
