Sean Paul, a legendary reggae and dancehall hitmaker, will make his 20th trip back to Kenya to perform as the main act in December. According to Who Said Events & Win Group Agency, the Grammy-winning performer will be the main attraction at the concert, which is scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Nairobi Jockey Club’s Waterfront 2 Gardens. The 51-year-old, who is well-known for his upbeat performances and number-one hits like “Get Busy,” “Give Me the Light,” and “No Lie,” is anticipated to heat up Nairobi and bring the same lively energy.
The event is anticipated to be highlighted by a star-studded lineup that includes both local and international performers. Kenyan celebrities Redsan, Motif Di Don (Arbantone set), DJ Grauchi, G-Money, Kym Nickdee, DJ Moh Spice, Mish, CNG, and ZJ Heno will all perform for the attendees.
The event will be hosted by well-known emcees DNG and BV Accurate, who will set the tone for an exciting and enjoyable evening.
Twenty years have passed since the legendary artist’s visit to Kenya in 2004 took a dramatic turn. After losing his cell phone, Sean Paul found himself in a bit of a bind.
As is typical of his comedic aptness, he joked about the experience and turned it into a quirky part of his tour narrative.
“I was in a hotel when I lost it, and I kept asking people where I could find it. I simply misplaced it; it wasn’t theft. I therefore considered setting up a phone award to encourage people to bring it back, but nothing came of it. But in 2021, he told Capital FM, “But big up to Kenya still, much love.”
