A whopping 1. 3 million Grade 6 students kicked off their Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) on Monday, October 28, embracing the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). The exams will test the learners’ comprehension of six subjects.
Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Science, Social Studies, and Creative Arts will be evaluated.
The students are going to start with Mathematics and English papers on Monday. They will be tackling Integrated Science and Kiswahili on Tuesday, before wrapping up with Creative Arts and Social Studies on Wednesday.

KPSEA, which commenced in 2022, is focused on aiding students in transitioning to Junior Secondary School.
KPSEA is characterized by a more relaxed exam environment and emphasized Competency-based assessment, as per the government.

In an official and informative manner: Speaking on the occasion of the exams being held in Kenya, Education CS Julius Migos stated that the Ministry has taken all necessary precautions to ensure the smooth conduct of national examinations take place.
The CS stated that areas like Tana River, facing security issues, will take exams in police stations for safety assurance. He totally confirmed that no candidate would be barred from sitting for the national examinations.
