Irungu Kang’ata appeals following hospitalization of UDA MCA
On Tuesday, Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata tenderly appealed to the public for assistance in raising funds for a nominated County Assembly Member in urgent need of medical support.Mark G Wainaina, an MCA affiliated with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, has recently been diagnosed with a serious pulmonary illness leading to lung failure, thus necessitating the family to reach out for further assistance.
The county assembly will be hosting a fundraising event to gather financial assistance for the treatment of the ailing MCA.
The Murang’a County Assembly Members Caucus cordially invites you to a fundraising dinner to support one of our esteemed Members, Hon. The name of the individual in question is Mark G. Kang’ata shared that Wainaina has been diagnosed with a severe pulmonary disease leading to the failure of both his lungs.
As per the brother of the MCA, who shared about the health of the lawmaker to have worsened lately, leading the family to reach out for assistance from well-wishers.
According to event organizers, a larger fundraiser will take place at Sagret Hotel in Milimani, Nairobi, on Friday, November 15, following the medical contributions.
Sharleen Wambui, a colleague MCA, appealed to Kenyans to support the Wainaina family in raising funds for his medical care.
“Dear family and friends, we kindly ask for your support in raising funds for our brother, Mark Wainaina. He is undergoing treatment for severe pneumonia that has led to the failure of his vital organs, and he is currently in the ICU,” she informed.
Wainana, a trusted associate of the Murang’a Governor, has been prominently featured in his social media updates ever since being chosen to represent Wangu Ward in the assembly.
In February 2023, Kang’ata was present at a gratitude event for the MCA that took place at St. The Anglican Church of Kenya in Kirogo is Peter’s place of worship.
Mark Wainaina, a nominated MCA representing Wangu ward, was joined by members of the Muranga County Assembly and various other leaders during his gratitude ceremony hosted at ACK St. The statement shared by Murang’a County Assembly mentioned Peter’s church, Kirogo.

The fundraiser event is taking place while the UDA government is encouraging Kenyans to enroll in the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) to address these medical emergencies.
