Baringo man detained: wife’s decomposed body found in his house

On Tuesday evening, authorities apprehended a 25-year-old gentleman from Kasisit, Baringo County, as the remains of his wife were discovered decomposing in his residence.

Dennis Kipsang was taken  into custody by law enforcement authorities when concerned neighbors, alerted by a disturbing odor coming from his residence, entered the premises and found the deceased body of 21-year-old Sharon Chelagat, wearing a wire around her neck.

Baringo North OCPD Mohamed  Abdi confirmed the incident, mentioning that initial reports suggest the man tragically took Chelagat’s life five days earlier, supposedly due to a complex romantic situation.

The individual, employed as a watchman at Kabiyewo Primary School, is currently in police custody and is awaiting legal proceedings.

He is currently being held at Kabarnet police station, while the body of the deceased is being kept at Baringo County referral mortuary.

The 25-year-old suspect is believed to be responsible for the tragic death of Sharon, who was the mother of his child.

It is rumored that the two individuals did not see eye to eye due to Sharon supposedly being involved romantically with a police officer assigned to the region. Upon realizing that things were not in order, she  humbly sought forgiveness in order to return to her marital home.

Denis agreed but she had no idea about the peril that lay ahead.

That evening, the husband kindly offered to prepare dinner but unfortunately, he  tainted the meal with poison. It is said that when the poison failed to kill her, he resorted to strangling her.

Christopher Ruto, the suspect’s cousin, shared his belief that they had gone their separate ways when she had decided to move in with the police officer along with her personal belongings.
