Ebenyo impressed with his first Chicago Marathon.
Showing strength and a message of wisdom, the world 10,000m silver medalist showed that he has just started his marathon journey and will be a champion in the upcoming races.
Moving forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Ebenyo – who has been ranked number one in the world in the 10,000 meters – missed the Games because he had checked out of the team, with directives by Kenyan sports..
My determination is greater than all the obstacles that stand in my way. I have seen that i can do it. Reflecting on his first marathon appearance,
“It was experience worth remembering. I am excited to have been selected for the first time in the Chicago Marathon, which is one of the six marathons in the world. It is an honor and I hope to achieve better results in future.”
As 2025 approaches, Ebenyo is facing a busy calendar of major events, the likes of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, the Cape Kip Keino of all times and the World Indoor Championships held in Nanjing..
About if he would return for follow-up sessions, Ebenyo gave no hopes.

At the age of 29, Ebenyo has established himself among one of Kenya’s top athletes.
In addition to a world silver medal in the 10,000 m, a Commonwealth Games silver medalist in the 10,000m, three-time Kenyan national champion in the 5,000m and among top ten finalists at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Ebenyo has also done road races and many half marathon victories. His personal best of 59:14 was achieved at the World Athletics Championships, where he finished second. Most recently, he won the Berlin 2024 Half Marathon with a time of 59:30.
Ebenyo’s future looks bright, and while his future endeavors are uncertain, one thing is clear – he is just getting started..
