Former CEO wants Ksh 5.9 billion from government for illegal detention.

Simiyu is asking the court to award him Ksh. 5 billion and allegations of arrests, prosecutions, trials and misdemeanors related to the stealing of more than 3 million from his employer.
He was sentenced to 3 years in prison 41 years ago by the Nairobi High Court after he was acquitted of stealing money from his employer.
Dissatisfied with the court’s decision, Simiyu appealed to the High Court in Nairobi to overturn the prison sentence, accusing the government of unfair trial, arrest law and imprisonment..
However, Simiyu had already served his sentence when the appeal was filed.
Simiyu then moved to the Court of Appeal, where he was acquitted of the charges brought against him by his employer..
