Former MP Charles Jaguar nominated as a member of CAJ.

President William Ruto has put forward the nomination of former Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua, widely recognized as Jaguar, to join the Commission of Administrative Justice (CAJ).

In a recent statement signed by Felix Koskei, the Head of Public Service, on Tuesday, November 12, the Head of State nominated Jaguar for a government position,  along with Dorothy Jemator Kimengech.

Jaguar, a prominent figure in Kenya, is renowned for his involvement in politics, business, and music. He first entered the political arena in 2017, successfully contesting and securing the Starehe Parliamentary seat on the Jubilee party platform. Yet in August 2022, the legislator lost his position following just one term in office.

The ex-lawmaker earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Mt Kenya University six years ago.

In the meantime, Dorothy Jemator Kimengech is an esteemed lawyer who has accumulated over 13 years of experience in the field of law. She is a prominent  advocate known for her successful handling of high-profile litigation, election petitions, and commercial cases, both at home and abroad.

Kimengech holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Moi University and a diploma in Advocates Training Programme (ATP) from the Kenya School of Law.

President Ruto appointed Charles Orinda Dulo as the Chairperson of the Commission, while the duo were nominated as members.

Orinda, having over 20 years of experience in private legal practice and public service, is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Dulo is one of the original members  who helped establish the faculty at Daystar University’s School of Law, and he continues to play a role as a lecturer there.

Dulo has shared his expertise in law through lecturing at several universities, such as Strathmore University School of Business, Daystar University School of Law, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) School of Law.

He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Nairobi, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) is a governmental  body responsible for addressing issues related to maladministration and improper governance in the public sector.

As an autonomous entity, CAJ is responsible for examining  complaints regarding delays, abuse of authority, unjust treatment, blatant unfairness, and misconduct within the government.
