Gazette notice: Gachagua’s impeachment- MP Koech

In his morning speech, the congress confirmed that the newspaper report published in the afternoon minutes after the confirmation of the Senate that the dismissal of Gachagua shows the government’s determination to perform it’s duties well.

During the interview, Senator Makueni rejected Koech’s views and asked why the government has not been effective in meeting the needs of Kenyans..

MP Koch said: “Nothing is wrong with a newspaper report published the night after the Senate passed the Gachagua impeachment bill. Our government is good and effective.”

“I like development,” replied Maanzo. Maanzo also said that the President and National speaker Moses Wetangula were forced by situations to disobey the Electoral Act which states that the office of the Democratic Party is an elective position and that the impeachment is by the protest that there is no exception positionHe also questioned the role of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in playing CS Kindiki when the chairman and commissioners have just been appointed. “The court decision issued by the judge on Friday can only be overturned in the Court of Appeals. This decision cannot be overturned by the Constitutional Court,” Manzo said….

“That shows bad faith, ill will and an effort to defeat justice. We saw that on Friday there was a special sitting, in fact I don’t remember parliament sitting on Friday and the president forwards a name and avoids the Elections Act conveniently,” he alleged.
Gachagua was handed a lifeline on Friday after the courts suspended the Senate’s resolution to uphold his impeachment and further barred Kindiki from assuming office pending hearing and determination of his case.
A three-judge bench, led by Justice Eric Ogola is now expected to rule on whether to vacate or extend the conservatory orders on Tuesday, October 22.
