Ouma claims that Harambee Stars can defeat Cameroon at home.

Midfielder Timothy “Babu” Ouma of the Harambee Stars is gleaming with confidence that his team can defeat Cameroon in Friday’s 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Yaoundé.

As they aim to qualify for next year’s fiesta in Morocco, Babu, who plays for Elfsborg in the Swedish top league, believes that the right preparations they have had thus far will propel them to victory.

As a team, we are eager for the match and are well-prepared; I have no doubt that Cameroon will lose.

To qualify, we must win the home games and a few away games, and if we stay focused, I think we can do it with ease,” he remarked.

“It feels nice to be back on the national team after being left off of it in the previous round.” The squad is highly competitive, which is advantageous for both the coach and the nation.

Because it requires effort, it is beneficial to us players as well,” he remarked. Babu, a former player for Nairobi City Stars, is playing for Swedish club Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League and local league, and he’s having a season to remember.

He most recently participated in the entire 90 minutes of their victory over AS Roma, an Italian team. Winger Adam Wilson, who plays for the Welsh team The New Saints FC, echoed his thoughts.

“The fight will be exciting. Whoever wants it more will win, and I believe the team does. Wilson stated, “It is about having the will and heart to win and hopefully get the three points and eventually the six points. At the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé, where they will play the hosts, the team got a feel for the field on Thursday night.
