Senator Karungo argued that Gachagua’s impeachment was wrong
Senator Kiambu asked why Gachagua was put in impeachment mode before exploring other legal and political options available to address the issues facing him.

“The accusations that were used against the Vice President are only political expressions. Karungo explained: They are not based on facts but on the basis of the desire to weaken his position and undermine him in the unity of the government.
The senator commented when the vice president tried to stop the motion in court.
Last Friday, President William Ruto appointed local Kithure Kindiki as the deputy. Kindiki received approval from parliament, and the DP candidate is awaiting a court decision on what’s next.
