The City Thunder are eager to thrive in the BAL elite tournament at home.

Nairobi City Thunder coach Brad Ibs is thrilled that Kenya will host the BAL Elite 16 tournament, which will be held at Nyayo Stadium and Kasarani Indoor Arena from November 28 to December 3.

Since winning the Premier League the previous season, City Thunder, the defending Kenyan champions, have been bolstering their team, demonstrating their clear goal of expanding their dominance internationally.

Following an innovative partnership between the NBA and FIBA, the Basketball Africa League (BAL) has emerged as the continent’s top professional basketball league. When the competition begins in Nairobi, Ibs is eager to take advantage of the home-court advantage.

“We’re excited to have it here, in front of our fans,” Ibs stated, adding that there was a lot of uncertainty regarding the event’s location and timing.

“We have been attempting to convey a clear message to the world for some time now: be wary of Kenyan basketball,” Ibs added with assurance.

According to Tylor Ongwae, 33, a player for Nairobi City Thunder, the team is ready to take on its fiercest opponents.

“After the final qualifying round, we returned home and corrected our mistakes. “I believe we’re confident going into next week and prepared to deliver excellent results,” Ongwae stated.

A thrilling basketball show is promised at the tournament, and the Nairobi City Thunder are hoping to make a big impression on the continental scene with the support of their home crowd.

City Oilers (Uganda), NBA Academy, Urunani BBC (Burundi), M.B.B. (South Africa), Bravehearts Basketball (Zambia), Matero Magic (Malawi), and Fox Basketball Club (South Sudan) are among the top teams from throughout Africa that will compete in the tournament.
