On Monday November 25, the Kenya Railways Corporation announced that there will be disruptions to the train service following the strife over the key Kenyan cities of Nairobi and other nearby areas affected to thousands of travelers who were using the medium.
According to the administration of the corporation, the train that serves the Nairobi CBD to Limuru route will not be available on Monday morning.
The corporation said the train was canceled due to unavoidable reasons but did not give more details.
We wish to inform members of the public that the train that cuts across Limuru – Nairobi CBD – route will not operate this morning due to inevitable reasons – Kenya Railways management said in a statement.
Operators have assured the travelers using other routes that normal train services were in operation as normal.
Commuter trains route Lukenya, Syokimau, Embakasi Village, and Ruiru stations will maintain their services,’’ Kenya Railways said. Further updates will be given as the day fades away.”
The announcement is set to affect hundreds of commuters who rely on the train services to report to their various places of work.
However, this is not the first time train services have been disrupted by rain, considering the management had in the past cited the weather conditions as the cause of past service disruptions.
