On Wednesday, November 13, the United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) experienced a setback as it lost one of its prominent Members of the County Assembly (MCA) in Murang’a.
Mark Wainaina, the MCA, passed away during his treatment for a long-standing illness.
Wainaina’s closest companion, Amos Mwangi, who serves as the chairperson of the Murang’a High School Alumni, shared the news of his passing, mentioning that he departed peacefully.

The sad news of the politician’s passing was conveyed by the medical team looking after him, who verified that his last electrocardiogram (ECG) reading, a method for capturing the heart’s electrical activity, indicated his departure.

Wainaina received a diagnosis of a severe pulmonary disease which had led to his lungs failing, necessitating his family to escort him to the hospital.
Wainana, a nominated MCA, was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at a hospital when his condition deteriorated.
The family of the late MCA and Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata kindly sought financial support on Wednesday, November 13, to help cover the medical expenses of their loved one.
The Murang’a County Assembly Members Caucus cordially extended an invitation to attend a fundraising dinner in support of one of our esteemed Members, Hon. Mark G. would be required. Kang’ata shared that Wainaina has been diagnosed with a significant pulmonary illness resulting in the failure of both his lungs.
The County Assembly members from Wangu ward, led by Sharleen Wambui, were taken aback by the incident involving Wainaina, a nominated MCA.
