Barry Otieno the secretary general and CEO of the Football Kenya Federation has stepped down after five years in the job.
His resignation comes as the troubled Congress prepares to conduct its long-delayed election, which has been marred by controversy and strife.
It is not yet clear if current congress president Nick Mwendwa, who has served two terms, will seek re-election and is widely expected to win vice president Doris Petra..

Meanwhile, Tom Alila has launched his bid to become the next president of the Football Association of Kenya.
In a project called ‘Hakuna Kulia na Alila’, Alila shared her vision, saying that the focus is on developing a beautiful game through an inclusive model, and create a football country where all stakeholders are empowered. “We are here to chart a new path for football in Kenya, one defined by our values of transparency, accountability and inclusion,” Alila said.
Its goal is to build strategic partnerships with schools and community organizations to provide education, resources and facilities for young athletes..

He aims to inspire young girls to pursue football and ensure they have the same opportunities to excel as their male counterparts..
