Zero excuses, for underperformance, Ruto tells CSs
At the state house contract signing for performance, for the CSs, the President emphasized the importance of taking personal responsibility and ensuring they achieve their goals within their ministries. Ruto sternly warned all the CSs that underperformance would not be tolerated, and he would not take any excuse. Make sure for the remaining period you accomplish your targets and serve Kenyans wholeheartedly. Otherwise, the effects would flow down the administration’s performance. He further elaborated that any setback in one sector would have a ripple effect and taint the bad image of the government’s overall efficiency. Take the necessary measures, and be responsible.
Just to remind you that this is the second phase of this performance contract. So for the betterment of our nation, we should be focused and work on enhancing the lives of the faithful citizens of Kenya and make it prosperous for everyone. They gave us work and we must take it upon ourselves to think through the responsibilities that lie ahead, the promises we gave the people, and purpose to fulfill them,” Ruto said.
This contract will act as a scorecard, by the conclusion of the end of each financial year. Bear in mind that this will enable each one of you to contemplate your achievements, see the setbacks in your ministries, and know what to work on moving forward. It’s important to maintain unity within a unified governmental plan. We should keep our goals to optimize the utilization of limited resources and improve efficiency.
He further stated that every customer service representative will give a personal account for the specified goals in their contracts and achievements met. I have no room for delays, failures, and excuses, he firmly stated. Be rather responsible at all levels in your ministry, as you will show your accomplishments at the end of the financial year.
